An Evening with Anwar Maqsood

Dear Members,

I realize that we have been slightly quiet over the last month after the picnic.  This was due to the fact that we wanted to organize an even that will attract a wide number of our members and appeal to almost all of you.  Kindly note that we are planning to organize an "Evening with Anwar Maqsood" on April 10. 

Anwar Maqsood is one of Pakistan's most well known celebrities with over 35 years in the entertainment industry.  He is an intellectual, poet, playwrite, television host, satirist, humorist, infrequent actor and long time painter.  He has tried his hand on a variety of subjects focusing on important issues prevalent in our society. Studio Dhai (Studio 2:30) and then Studio Ponayteen (Studio 2:45) along with Show sha and numerous other shows, displayed his talent as a compère. The plays he writes unfolds many sensitive issues and unveil social weaknesses very powerfully with solid tongue-in-cheek statements. The best thing about Anwar Maqsood's writing is that it tackles hard subjects in lighter vein. He has command equally over all the disciplines of performing arts. He is a painter of national repute and writer-actor of class, known for his satire and humour. He is an advocate of sophisticated humour, with numerous contributions for Television to his credit. His typical style of comparing and communicative double edge sentences have entertained a global audiance. Anwar Maqsood is some one that Pakistan could indeed be proud of.

Attendance Policy: Members and their spouses attend for free.  No children under 14 allowed.  Guests are welcome at a fee of Dhs. 165/ person.

We have not had a very good experience with members and guests management in the recent past for our events.  So I have two requests for our esteemed members:

• You are all aware of the starting time of the event.  By some advance planning on everyone's part we can start the event in time and allocate more time for our guest to speak.  Usually we have to delay the start of the event by up to 30 minutes which is unfair to our members who arrieve in time.  I request you to kindly be at Dusit between 19:00 ~ 19:15 to be able to enjoy your welcome drinks and then join us for the event.
